it's just a Japanese anime thing where the characters are all cat-like.

Never heard of such anime. And why is it so popular? Or I'm just too old and unaware?

I don't mean just one specific anime
basically, all Japanese anime characters have their facial features, noses, and eyes inspired by cats. If you've noticed, Japanese people themselves have small eyes, but in anime, the characters have big eyes.

It might not make sense to most men, but well, there are plenty of people who like cosplay and these kinds of things.

Well, yea cosplay I get, dress up as a hot nurse, a superhero outfit a school girl, video game character. But cats? Really?

How do I get my point across? Look, it's not exactly a cat. It's like this because of that physical resemblance and maybe its innocence. There's also a fox, like the nine-tailed fox in anime and so on, but the cat is cute, that's why.

You don't have to make a point. It's just not my thing I guess. You can spend hours explaining it to me, but this cat thing I will never understand. I have a cat, and not once in my life I ever tought about imitating cats image. Or any other animal for that matter.
